Political writer and commentator for Al-Hayat Newspaper. He has published several books on Arab politics and culture. Hazem Sagiyya is a writer of diverse interests and has published a number of books and articles.
Hazem Sagiyya was born in 1951 to a Lebanese family. He studied in Beirut and then travelled to Britain in 1970 to complete his studies.
He shifted between several ideologies that became popular during his time, and given his upbringing in a Greek Orthodox family, as he recounts in his autobiography, he is attached to Arab literature and Arab nationalism.
He has published several books on Lebanon, Arabism, Islamists, Art and Political Theory.
